GUTU TESSO, COUNTRY DIRECTOR
Gutu brings nearly two decades of experience in the non-governmental organization sector to his role as our country director in Ethiopia.
The accomplished people and program manager is a strategic thinker who’s a leader in partnership development and engagement, advocacy and policy influence, resource mobilization and more. He specializes in disaster-risk reduction, climate-change adaptation programs as well as emergency response and productive safety net programs.
Most recently, Gutu held a senior-level position at World Vision Ethiopia’s Development Food Assistance Program, comprised of more than 500 staff and operating in three of the biggest regional states in Ethiopia.
Gutu received a doctorate in economics, agriculture and climate change from Ethiopia’s Haramaya University.
In his spare time, you’ll find Gutu reading sustainable economic development-related materials and policy issues. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family.
